This may be just a little conufsing, because i am going to introduce you a new definition of “Asset”. In checking the financial statements of a company, we look to the balance sheet to find out what Assets the company owns. These assets can be factories, plants and equipments etc. i.e. these are things the company has that can be converted to some cash value.

But today, I am going to talk about your personal buying of Assets. When we discuss about assets, some people will think about their house or car or even their Iphone. I would like to borrow what Robert Kiyosaki states as Assets – Things that give you cashflow, or things that put money into your pocket.

Do your house, car or iphone put money into your pocket, or do they take money out? I think for most people, we know that they take money away. Of course, with proper knowlegde and business vehicles, you can turn these into Cash producing assets.
